Just finished this fun college quilt for a customer. I think it will be a gift - she’s sending it on to West Virginia. Where else!! Big football fans :) Panto design “Touchdown” - helmets, footballs and stars!

Being a new quilter, this client was not confident in applique techniques so asked if I could take on that job. Using a nice fusible and a blanket stitch on my domestic machine, I layered all the elements and carefully stitched. After the top is completed and then quilted, the birds’ eyes will be added. I asked my customer to send a picture when it is all done. The picture on the right is the finished quilt on her mother’s bed (the center is off centered so that I could crop out personal items. ) The colors are beautiful! What a wonderful addition to her bedroom.
We had a cardinal pair to visit our old home for years. Since they mate for life, I often wondered if it was the same pair and then other generations over the years. I think so??? :) Maybe someday another pair will find our new home.

A friend of mine is having a home built near their delighter & family. A table topper for every season will make her table happy.
After I quilted them on my domestic machine (except for the snowflakes - I used the longarm), she still has to do all those bindings!

I recently finished a “Memory” quilt for my next door neighbor. Her mother passed away a year ago. She had many many fun pajamas so we decided to use them. My neighbor can now remember her mother as she wraps herself up in the pj’s warmth. Her mother loved flowers. The backing material is just perfect. The queen size quilt will be used in a new home as my neighbor will be moving back, out of state, to be near family members. I will miss her. She moved in shortly after we moved in. She was a good “covid” friend.

Just finished up a “winter” quilt that is really beautiful. The large blocks with a single large snowflake interspersed with large blocks of snowflake fabrics shows that very simple piecing can make stunning quilts with the right fabrics. The large blocks were in colors of very dark blue, medium blues and very light blues. The So Fine thread is named “Blizzard” and the pantograph “White Out”.

Another wild & wonderful quilt top. An abundance of colors with a tropical feel.

Finished, draped over my longarm

Tried to mimic some of the tropical like flowers in the fabric

Can't have tropical flowers without large leaves

A variety of flowers and leaves show better on the borders - also next two pics

The few pictures of this quilt do not do it justice. It is a beautiful king sized paper pieced pineapple design that is to be a gift for my client’s son. It was absolutely beautiful. She trusted me to choose an edge to edge design. I decided on this swirl with some sharp points in brown thread. The texture shows up some on the top as I did not want to take away from the wonderful piecing. The quilt design shows up really well on the solid cream backing. It may take awhile for her to bind it because of the size but it will be so beautiful on his bed!

A beautiful double Irish chain top that I got to quilt. I love the colors, especially the backing fabric. Maybe it’s because I love to eat figs! We selected a pantograph feather design for tradition but with a modern twist. This quilt is a gift for a special cousin. I bet she will love it!

I quilted this table topper for a friend on my B770 using rulers and a free motion small leaf all over design. Won’t this look lovely on a table in the spring when tulips are in bloom? I would love to plant some bulbs this fall but not sure my foot is up yet for some digging. I did not get my flowers beds done this year because of the broken foot. But I am so grateful that it is much better. Soon I will be walking normally - not sure I remember how!! :)

Finished the appliqued Double Wedding Ring quilt for my friend from Williamsburg. I just love the colors - reminds me of sherbet flavors! She does such wonderful hand applique . She placed a four petal flower in each of the spaces between the rings. In the second picture you see the back where she randomly placed flowers - a little surprise when you turn the quilt over. However, I simply quilted from the top so that the design goes randomly thru the flowers. She did not want heavy quilting but I did have to stitch in the ditch around all the rings and flowers to stabilize the quilt and then I went back with ruler work and a small amount of “almost” micro stippling. You can see the details on the third and fourth pictures. I would love to have this quilt hanging on a wall in a guest bedroom - so much color and tradition!

Most recent quilting job - this client's piecing is exceptional! All those circular seams were perfect. A joy to quilt.

backing showing pantograph - Berry Vine

I would love to snuggle up in this scrappy quilt on my swing in the fall :)

A child's applique quilt - soooo cute!

The customer wanted just background stitching and I also sewed around each block and applique. Used good monopoly thread to give texture but not take away from the light and dark blocks

I did free motion with white thread - loops, flowers, butterflies and stipples in the outside border. This is going to a little girl :)

This is the largest " Rosey Posey" (or French Rose) quilt I have done so far. Definitely a king on my queen bed! Extending over the footboard and borders nowhere in sight! I would love this as a summer quilt :)

This is the best pattern to use up so many scraps of fabric. Using any combination of fabric makes the flowers so pretty.

"Lost" the picture of the front border?? but this is the back side. The floral border fabric had soft pinks, blues, corals, yellows, cream, etc. I free motioned around some of the flowers, leaves and butterflies.

This is a beautiful large wall hanging / small throw. I think I can put it on my site now as it will soon be a gift for my client’s husband. The Panto she picked is Tumbling Crosses. Just perfect and gives lots of texture.

A proud grandmother made this VA Tech quilt for her grandson. She’s hoping he will keep it on his bed at home instead of his dorm room bed! But it is up to him!! She wanted a simple quilting design so I free motioned lots of stars and loops.

Here is a quilt from a friend who LOVES color and Tula Pink fabrics. The pieced top is a simple design but the fabrics are fabulous. Can you see the “critters” hidden in the fabrics from the closeups of the blocks?? FUN!

Don’t you just want to step into this quilt and spend the day on this beach!!
Recently finished my friend’s Beach applique quilt. It will go to a granddaughter :)
I used monopoly thread on top for detail in the blocks and So Fine 50 thread in the sashing, borders and in the bobbin. All blocks, sashing and borders have different free motion quilting.

Just finished a graduation quilt for a client. It's a "Rosey Posey" UVA quilt. I would love to get this quilt :)

You can see the free motion designs from the back.

Beautiful jewel tones on-point.

Pantograph "Caliente" ; Thread So Fine 50 #440 Lilac

Love the backing of this quilt!

I love this simple design!

"Wild Cherry" pantograph ; So Fine 50 #402 Pearl

Pretty backing fabric.

Even the back of the Tula Pink quilt is wonderful. A simple meander is all the quilting that was needed. So Fine 50 thread #435 It's a Boy

Tula Pink fabrics are sometimes tooo good to cut into smaller pieces. Just sewing into BIG blocks is the perfect way to showcase the fabric.

This 30's fabrics "Sunbonnet Sue" top was done by my friend who does wonderful hand applique. The yellow is an inserted piping.

Custom quilting with ruler work and free motion. Thread - white.

A behind grid really shows off the applique

Extra blocks will be made into shams. Good idea!
