My personal quilts from start to finish!
I doesn’t seem like I get a lot of my own quilts done - or even my quilts “want to be”! I always have many in my mind and sometimes the fabrics on my shelves. But when I get something done, I will share. (Just don’t hold your breathe ;)
The first quilt I finished for myself January 2024. A good way to get rid of scraps! But doesn’t seem like I made a dent in my scrap box :) Each block is made by sewing any width strips on a light muslin square. After it is covered, the square is cut down to the size wanted. The blocks can then put in a number of different arrangements but I chose to make a larger block out of 4 smaller blocks. Then made the top from these larger blocks. The best thing is that there is no matching of any seams until you put the larger blocks together.

My niece in Ohio will have her first baby in April. I made this quilt from a kit. The fabric is Cuddle Minky - it is so extremely soft that you just want to keep holding it. I had enough fabric left over to make a little “lovey” doll. Goggle that and get a free tutorial. I’m sending this off soon so that she has it for the shower that her sister is hosting. My niece and her husband are so excited. :)

Quilt and "Lovey" doll
This is about the only thing I finished for myself in 2022. Sigh…… That’s ok. I get to quilt lots of wonderful quilts that so many people will love.
Living in a farming area, I thought I’d do something with a layer cake I bought with a farm theme. So, I made a simple good sized throw to use when watching tv in the evenings. I used a simple pattern from one of Missouri Star’s Block books (sorry can’t remember the name and returned the book to a friend). I used some cream fabric that I already had. Wished I had bought a type of green now but it’s still ok. I love all the chickens, pigs, cows, eggs, field patterns. I even used the rest of the fabrics and older blocks, from a pattern that I once was going to make. on the back. Don’t waste fabric!
I put on a little corner label. Always label with at least the date !
Don’t you love the chicken pantograph pecking over the quilt!! So now I have another flock of chickens around my house. Haha :) I’ve talked about my obsession with chickens a while earlier. A Simple and Done quilt!

“Home” table topper. I Finished! Feels good to finish something after starting...and thinking about it…for at least 2 years. I based my design on https://lavieenrosie.typepad.com/AroundThePinkHood.pdf pattern. Increased size and appliqued HOME on the corners.
Quilting: used my domestic machine - free motion, rulers, decorative machine stitches. Word of caution: entirely used scraps. I usually wash all fabric but I guess a few of the reds sneaked in without being washed. After carefully using a damp cloth to remove small blue marks, a faint amount of dye bleeding onto the ivory occurred. It’s ok because it was slight but now I must be careful if this topper gets washed.

My son at one time did some scuba diving. I made this for him. I now have it hanging in the room he stays in when he comes to visit. Says someday he will take it :)???

This is not really a quilt but a large wall hanging made for Christmas. I hung it above our TV. The blocks were appliqued with the embroidery machine and then pieced together and quilted.

My spring quilt with BIG tulips! The plan was to make a quilt for each season. Have I done that yet?????

My French Rose (or rosey posey) quilt that hangs on the bedroom wall in the summer. Blocks were from a quilt guild block exchange. I thought a white picket fence would keep my garden tidy.
